Underbody Bolt Cleaning System

The underbody skid returning from the paint shop required a fully automated bolt cleaning solution. The existing bolt cleaning system had reached end of life and was no longer operational, necessitating a complete redesign and modernization.

Project Scope

  • Redesign and engineer a new bolt cleaning system compatible with the existing mechanical structure
  • Develop a new control system fully integrated with the existing BMW control architecture
  • Decommission and remove the outdated bolt cleaning system
  • Manufacture and install new bolt cleaning units and control panels
  • Program and commission a Festo servo drive integrated with the existing Siemens PLC
